On Thursday night, Bloomingdales 59th street celebrated the launch of the Akris Punto shop. There was a fashion show as well as panel discussion presenting the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Joyann King, Haper’s Bazaar Senior Wed Editor, Gigi Stone, Bloomberg News Correspondent, and Edwin Gierbolini, Akris’ Senior Account Executive discussed each piece that came down the runway. There was much color blocking, prints, bright dresses in flattering silhouettes and lengths as well as tailored blazers and pants. They described this line as being for the workingwoman who can wear these clothes from day to night. I loved every piece in this collection and I think that any woman wearing these clothes would feel pretty but powerful at the same time. There was champagne as well as other sweet treats served throughhout the event. After the show I met the panel of the very notable people. The crowd consisted of very fashionable and interesting people and met these two girls who really knew how to mix and match prints in a tasteful way. Each person also received this months issue of Haper’s Bazaar!
